I also got an Iphone in 2011. My favorite picture all year - the sun setting on the Gulf of Mexico in St Pete, Florida - with my best friend and my boyfriend - one of my favorite moments of the year.

Top 5 Hits of 2011
1. Revenge - I’ve never been so proud of an Everwood alum’s work.
2. Pretzel Crisps - Buffalo Style. These are a FABULOUS low-calorie alternative to most snacks I eat. If I had a penny for every time I texted my boyfriend “stop at Johnnie’s for pretzels!” I’d have at least 25 cents…ya know?
3. The Vampire Diaries - I resisted for oh so long but I’m more than thrilled that I spent an entire weekend in 2011 curled up on my couch with my sister falling in love/lust with Damon Salvatore. RIP BOONE.
4. Water - I know this sounds ridiculous but I spent most of 2005-2010 cracked out on 7 Diet Cokes a day. In my old age I decided to give water a try. We have a very amicable relationship.
5. The Elected “Have You Been Cheated”
“Now I had what I had
and I lost what I lost.
I’d buy it all back, but I’d buy it for cost.
But everybody knows, It’d never sell out.
And some stay for money
and some just for fun.
Maybe you got stuck with your time on the run.
You can hold your pillow close,
‘cause those days are done.”
Girl Feelings + The Return of Blake = Perfect.

This is just beautiful music. Makes me want to have a glass of wine and weep openly. Work is really getting in the way of my feelings.

Anonymous asked: I don't know who you are but Lady Gaga actually represents something and has more musical talent and depth than Rilo Kiley (whoever that is). Born this way is so far the song of the decade and before you bash actual musicians, maybe you should learn more about music. I guess i have to ask you something in this section so i want to ask you HOW CAN YOU COMPARE R.K. AND ALLISON WEISS TO PEOPLE LIKE GAGA AND KATY PERRY. Look at album sales.
I would never have figured out this was my boyfriend if I didn’t know my boyfriend was morally opposed to question marks (they bother him?). Good job, Brendan.

Things I hate on a Friday: Lady Gaga
Okay, I get the whole Gaga thing most of the time. I loved her first album. Catchy, “pre-gaming with the girls in college” music - It also made for decent work-out jams. I really loved The Fame Monster. I thought it was clever and again - decent Top-40 pop music. Since then, my relationship with Gaga has gone downhill. I find her constant preaching irritating. I find the fact that she thinks she is more than just another pop-star irritating. Her songs are bubble-gum pop with a little more depth than Katy Perry (I will give her that) yet she seems to think she is a)revolutionizing music and b)the greatest song-writer on the planet. I had little hope for her new single, Born this Way which was as hyped up as MTV’s Skins. Well #bornthiswayfriday SUCKS. Her new song has cliché lyrics, a terrible disco beat and is a blatant Madonna rip-off. I was happy to see on Entertainment Weekly that people were tearing it apart in the comments section…but then I went on twitter and people loved it. Actual words used: “Gaga never lets us down, baby!” and “SONG OF THE DECADE”. Are you flippin’ serious? Really? REALLY?!?!!?!? I am not a music snob but sometimes I am just embarrassed of Americans and what they think is great. PS. She calls Asian people Orientals in her song. That is all. I am going back to listening to Rilo Kiley’s Live at the Fingerprints EP and avoiding turning on Kiss 108 for the next 3 days in the fear this song will haunt me.

An email we just received.* Anyone else think it’s funny that St. Martin’s assumes anyone who wants a t-shirt must wear a women’s large?
*Yeah, we’re on the mailing list for Sweet Valley Confidential. Wanna make something of it?
Me: Oh no, SVH comes out when I’m in Florida. :(
Jenna: Yes and they don’t tell books in Florida!
I’m also on the mailing list. No big deal.

"Ugh, I know I’m going a little crazy. This is the worst time of year…I know, seriously. All there is to do is eat. It’s literally the only entertainment."
